Photography is my main hobby.
I'm a budding nature photographer. For me, taking photos of the natural world is therapeutic, and I always spend a lot of time in the garden, exploring and appreciating everything.

I have a photography website here; www.fallingleavesphotography.daportfolio.com which shows some of my best photo's.

Does anybody else also take enjoyment in photography? If so, which is your best interest area? E.g. People, nature, still-life etc... :)

I want to be a freelance photographer when I'm older,
I love nature photography - so landscapes etc.
Generally I can't stand taking pictures of people, but I do quite like the idea of band photography.
This is my flickr..

And, in fact here is a set of some photos that I got of Sam when he came to my school for the house gig! :) - http://www.flickr.com/photos/meg_seekings/sets/72157627152229788/

I've dabbled a bit in photography. I majored in print journalism but also studied photography in college.

What sort of cameras do you guys use? I have two digital SLRs, a Canon Digital Rebel and a Canon 10D. :wub2:

Here's a few random pics I've shot. I mostly take pics of "stuff" as opposed to "people":

Meg, your Sam pics are adorable. :wub2:

I don't use a professional camera at all. I just use a normal Fujifilm camera which is 14 megapixels. But it seems to do me perfectly :)

And thank you Mana :)

I want to get into photography, I'm thinking about taking it at college. I'd want to photograph people. E.g. a gig photographer. That'd be amazing.

Yeah I really got into the idea of wanting to be a gig photographer but I mentioned it to Patrick and her confirmed something I had already thought, it's really hard to get into that line of the work and there isn't much money in it. But I agree, it would be amazing!

I'll back up what he said about there not being much money in it. In fact, when I went to study journalism they told us on the first day that regardless of whether we wanted to be writers or photographers, if we hope to become rich we should enroll in computer engineering or something instead. :naughty:

That said, some people get lucky. A few of my classmates went on to have decent careers in photography - enough to feed themselves, anyway. Shooting weddings tends to be a good bread-and-butter area for photographers.

I love snapping away with my camera whenever I go out. Love taking pictures in general, but by no means an expert. Favourite subject is nature/wildlife etc. Also like a bit of concert photography. I have a load of pics on my FB page if you would like a look :biggrin2:

Your pictures are amazing , by the way.

Ooh, I've seen some of the ones you took of Sam, which you posted on his wall. They are very good :), but I'd love to see your nature & wildlife ones too. Do you have the link to them?

And thank you, feedback, especially good feedback, is definitely appreciated.
I am very proud of the shots I have produced, because they were taken with just a normal camera, but I've decided I'm definitely going to invest in a proper one! :)
