    Record Club Volume 11

Volume 11 features 'Here in Silence' and 'Jeckyl & the Man'. You can hear some excerpts in Sam's video here:

Ha! I was just going to start a thread about volume 11

    opinion on volume 11:
I really like Here In Silence. It's quite different to most of Sam's stuff, but it's lovely! The lyrics are really well thought out and I love how it sort of builds up, down, and then back up again :-)

Jeckyl & The Man is aaaaaamazing. I'm glad you've kept it as an acoustic version as it's wonderful that way, and that's how I'm used to it from Sam playing it on my sofa
Also, the video is a really nice touch, happy that I managed to get it onto my iPod :-)

I was thinking the same thing! When I first played it I was thinking "whoa, this is DIFFERENT!"

I love that with the record club Sam is free to record whatever he feels like, without having to stick to a defined genre and without worrying what a bunch of record industry types think.

And I agree that Jeckyl & The Man is perfect just the way it is. And what a completely different song from Here In Silence! Putting these two songs back to back seems to have "artistic freedom" written all over it, and I really hope Sam agrees.

What are we going to do after Volume 12???

Volume 11 finally arrived!... I was getting worried that it wouldn't arrive at all, with it being the Christmas month and everything.

I think Volume 11 is the best yet. Here In Silence is so beautiful, it actually made me cry...
It's most definitely my new favourite

Jeckyl And The Man. Just wow. I love the melody, and the story that is told enthralls me...

Well done Sam! Amazing Vol 11. Thank you! :')

Yes! I agree with all of this. Sam hasn't got the ties of such record companies as Sony pushing him towards one single genre, he can try new things, and if they don't work (which they do :P ) then it's off his own back and it's he who will 'pay' for it. I think that that level of freedom is really good for Sam! He can, like I said, try new things until he gets something that he is really pleased with :-)
